Kevin Kuros for State Representative

Working for you!

Welcome
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for State Representative in the 8th Worcester District.  My district includes the towns of Douglas, Dudley and Webster, the 4th Precinct of Oxford, and the 3rd Precinct of Uxbridge.

I am currently completing my second term on the Uxbridge Board of Selectmen.  I was first elected in a special election in October of 2005 and re-elected in May of 2007.  In my time on the Board of Selectmen, it's become obvious to me that there has been a fundamental breakdown of trust between our elected leaders on Beacon Hill and the cities and towns of the Commonwealth.

Private sector jobs have been nearly flat in Massachusetts for a decade.  While nearly all of us have been affected by the economy over the past few years, the MA state legislature has somehow felt justified in increasing the size of state government over that time frame.  A State House full of entrenched incumbents fosters an environment ripe for patronage, where friends and family are taken care of at the expense of local aid, for corruption, and for political opportunists.

I have over 20 years experience creating jobs in the private sector.  I am a small business owner.  And I am a local official who sees the disconnect between the Legislature's rose colored glasses view of the world, and the tough struggles we deal with on a daily basis.  It's time for change, and I want to be part of that change!

My goals are simple:  Improve the financial strength of our towns through controlling taxes and keeping less of your tax dollars at the State House.  Reduce the size of state government.  Encourage the retention and expansion of jobs by becoming more business friendly.  And provide an open and trustworthy government by honoring and respecting the processes of ballot initiatives, referendums, and other means of gaining public input.

Obviously, no one legislator can accomplish this on their own.  But change can start with a single seat in the State House or with a single vote - yours!  I'd be honored if you'd trust me with your vote.

Please check back often as we'll be updating the site on a regular basis.

Regards,

Kevin

P.S.  If you share my vision for a new fiscally responsible Massachusetts, please do what you can to support my campaign.
