Kevin Kuros for State Representative

Working for you!

Welcome

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for State Representative in the 8th Worcester District.  My district includes the towns of Douglas, Dudley and Webster, the 4th Precinct of Oxford, and the 3rd Precinct of Uxbridge.

I am currently in my second term on the Uxbridge Board of Selectmen.  I was first elected in a special election in October of 2005 and re-elected in May of 2007.  In my time on the Board of Selectmen, it's become obvious to me that there has been a fundamental breakdown of trust between our leaders on Beacon Hill, our local community leaders, and the public whom we serve.

Having come from a hard-working close knit family, I recognize and have not lost touch with the challenges that are faced by each and every one of us.  Challenges in making ends meet financially.  Challenges in raising a family in times that are socially and morally difficult.  Challenges in dealing with uncertain job and housing markets.  And challenges in dealing with a government that doesn't respect our rights or opinions on matters that are important to us.

It's time for change, and I want to be part of that change!

My goals are simple:  Improve the financial strength of our towns through controlling taxes and keeping less of your tax dollars at the State House.  Protect parental rights through common sense legislation, because no one knows or loves your children more than you do.  Encourage the retention and expansion of jobs by becoming more business friendly.  Provide an open and trustworthy government by honoring and respecting the processes of ballot initiatives, referendums, and other means of gaining public input.

Obviously, no one legislator can accomplish this on their own.  But change can start with a single seat in the State House or with a single vote - yours!  I'd be honored if you'd trust me with your vote.

Please check back often as we'll be updating the site on a regular basis.

Regards,

Kevin

BOSTON GLOBE 11-3-08 - WAVES OF SCANDAL RATTLE BEACON HILL, SUGGEST VOTING REPUBLICAN!

Even the Boston Globe is admitting that Beacon Hill is broken.  Do you REALLY want to keep sending the same people back?  Click here to read their article.

Here's a great quote from the article, coming on the heals of the mailer many of us received last week with Governor Patrick arm in arm with my opponent:

"Governor Deval Patrick, who came to office vowing to change the culture, is now watching that culture veer out of control. But even the self-professed reformer governor has taken his lumps, accused of using loopholes in state campaign laws to leverage jumbo contributions from lobbyists and businesses seeking favors from state government.

He also, like many prominent officeholders, endorsed Wilkerson in the Democratic primary despite her long list of previous legal problems, saying it was a matter of loyalty because of her early endorsement of his 2006 candidacy."

Is pretty amazing when loyalty takes precedence over judgment.

Finally, the Boston Globe even went so far as to suggest the right way to send a message to Beacon Hill is not through Question 1, but rather, by electing more Republicans.  Click here to read their article.

DEBATE HELD 10-28-08 - KUJAWSKI DODGES QUESTIONS, DENIES DOCUMENTED ROLL CALL VOTES

Kevin Kuros and Paul Kujawski held their one and only debate on Tuesday, October 28th in Douglas.  Copies have been distributed to all towns in the district for play on their public access television channels.  Streaming video of the debate can be seen on the Douglas, MA website by clicking here.

Kevin Kuros has issued a press release on the debate.  You can read it by clicking here.

Additionally, while Paul claimed during the debate to have voted to lower taxes many times, his voting record has not satisfied the Citizens for Limited Taxation, who rated him only 38% on their most recent taxpayer rating.  Their endorsement of Kevin Kuros can be found here.

WRKO RADIO BLOG DISCUSSES 8TH WORCESTER RACE

WRKO mentions Paul Kujawski as being one of the biggest offenders in fighting the voter mandate to roll back the state income tax to 5.0% in their blog entitled "Don't Be Fooled by Phony Outrage" found here. They also mentioned Deval Patrick's robo-call endorsement of Diane Wilkerson in September.  Please remember this when you receive robo-call and printed endorsements from the Patrick Administration this week!
